Giulio Menossi was born in 1955, in Udine, a small town in Northeast Italy.

Aurora by Giulio MenossiAt 18 he moved to Milan, where he started to learn the technique of Venetian mosaics.  For 3 years, he studied under his master, Domenico Coleldani.

In 1976, Menossi decided to come back to Udine and open his personal laboratory.  Three years later he moved to the United States to follow his passion for mosaic art and worked for the prestigious Crovatto Mosaic in New York.  Upon his return to Udine he continued to improve his skill and techniques until, after 35 years of work, he became known for the high quality of his technique and design.

Dr. Ettore by Giulio MenossiOver the years Menossi’s works have been commission by people in France, Italy, US and Oman.  In March 2006, he took part in a mosaic exhibition in Chalon-en-Champagne, France.  In 2008 and 2009, he was the juror for the exhibitions in the Ciel Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina.  In 2010, he was awarded as one of the top 10 mosaic artists in the juried Exhibition in Print of Mosaic Art Now Magazine.  In April 2010, he took part in Fuorisalone, the prestigious Design Week in Milan.

In collaboration with Pam Givens in 2009, he began sharing his 35 years of experience in the Venetian technique through workshops and classes in his laboratory in Udine, Italy.
